The tab-audio input captures whatever is playing in another tab, whether that is YouTube, a webinar, or a live stream, and transcribes and translates it in real time. Even when the content ships without subtitles, the always-on-top overlay window sits over any player, movie-subtitle style.

Switch the input source to Tab audio
In the console's Caption mode, change the input source from microphone to Tab audio.
Pick your languages
Set the input language to the video's language and the translation language to yours. Not sure what it is? Auto-detect works too.
Choose the tab and check Share audio
Press Start and the share dialog opens. Pick the tab playing the video and check Share audio at the bottom — without it, no sound comes through.
Drag the overlay onto the video
Place the always-on-top overlay window (PiP) at the bottom of the player, somewhere it does not cover the action.
Adjust as you watch
Font size, line count, and source visibility change instantly while watching. Stepping away? Pause with Space.
Details & tips
Private session
For casual watching, use a private session — no history is kept and everything disappears at the end.
Streaming display mode
Live streams suit the flowing Streaming mode; for lectures you want to read calmly, pick Sentence mode.
Keep the transcript
Outside private sessions, reopen the full transcript in Session history afterwards and export it as TXT/SRT.
Hide the source
Want translation only? Turn off source display — the [Source] button on the PiP window toggles it too.
Limits & requirements
- Tab audio capture works on desktop Chrome/Edge — checking Share audio in the share dialog is required.
- Translation quality follows the original audio — content with loud music or effects can shake recognition.
- Use it within the content's terms of service and copyright.
