Paid Service Terms

These terms apply when you buy a paid plan. They sit alongside our Terms of Service, which continue to govern everything else, and our Privacy Policy.

Last updated: August 1, 2026· Announced and effective on publication. Paid plans are available from August 3, 2026.

1. Scope

These Paid Service Terms apply to paid plans of the Newey AI service. Everything else — your account, acceptable use, your content, disclaimers, liability, and dispute resolution — is governed by the Terms of Service, which apply to paid plans too. Where the two conflict on a matter of payment, these Paid Service Terms prevail.

We keep them in a separate document so that changes to pricing and billing do not require reopening the terms that govern the Service as a whole. That is a convenience of drafting, not a reduction of your protection: a change to these terms follows the same notice rules (Section 14).

2. Who You Buy From

Your purchase contract is with the merchant of record, not with us

Paid plans are sold through Lemon Squeezy (Sold through Link, LLC), acting as the merchant of record. It is the seller of your subscription: it takes your payment, its name appears on your receipt, and it is responsible for collecting and remitting any sales tax or VAT on the sale. We remain responsible to you for providing the Service itself under the Terms of Service, and you can always raise a billing problem with us directly at contact@newey.ai — we will take it up with the seller on your behalf.

You enter your card and billing details on the seller’s checkout and it collects them as the seller: they never reach us, and we never store them. What we receive back is the state of your subscription. This is described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Plans and Prices

The plans on offer, what each includes, and their prices are shown on the pricing page and in the Service. The price, the billing period, and any taxes that apply to you are shown before you agree to pay.

Usage limits are measured as wall-clock captioning time, regardless of how many caption languages are displayed at once. Where a plan states a monthly allowance, that allowance does not carry over to the next period.

4. Billing Period and Renewal

You choose a monthly or a yearly billing period at checkout. Yearly plans are billed once for the whole year at the yearly price shown, not month by month.

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect for that plan, charged to the payment method you gave the seller, until you cancel. You can see your next billing date in the Service at any time, and we email you when a subscription starts, changes, or is cancelled.

5. Changing Your Plan

  • Upgrading — moving to a more expensive plan takes effect immediately. The seller charges you for the remainder of the current period and applies credit for what you have already paid for it.
  • Downgrading — moving to a cheaper plan, or to the free plan, takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep what you paid for until then, and nothing is charged in between.

We tell you which of the two applies, and when it takes effect, before you confirm. A scheduled downgrade can be cancelled at any time before it takes effect.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time, from the Service or from the seller’s customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account returns to the free plan. Cancelling does not by itself refund the current period — see Section 7 for when a refund is due.

Deleting your account cancels your subscription as part of the deletion. We do not delete an account while a subscription is still live at the seller, so that your card cannot keep being charged after your account is gone.

7. Withdrawal and Refunds

Unused within 7 days: full refund. Used: statutory rights only.

If you ask within 7 days of a payment and you have not started a captioning session on the paid plan since that payment, we refund it in full, no reason needed. Write to contact@newey.ai. We can see whether the plan has been used, so you do not have to prove anything.

Once you have used the paid plan, the service for that period has been supplied and we do not refund it, except where your statutory rights say otherwise (below) or where a fault on our side kept you from using what you paid for — in that case ask us and we will make it right. We may also refund at our discretion in circumstances we consider fair; doing so once does not oblige us to do it again.

Your statutory rights come first. If you are a “Consumer” — someone using the Service for purposes outside their trade, business, craft, or profession — nothing here limits any right of withdrawal, cancellation, or refund that the mandatory law of your country of habitual residence gives you. Section 13 sets out the two we are most often asked about. Because the merchant of record is the seller, refunds are executed by it; ask us and we will arrange it.

8. Failed Payments

If a renewal payment fails, the seller may retry it and will normally notify you. If it stays unpaid, the paid plan ends and your account returns to the free plan. We do not delete your saved data because a payment failed, and you can subscribe again at any time.

9. Price Changes

We may change the price of a plan. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for. We announce it at least 30 days before it applies to your renewals and notify you individually, so that you can cancel or change plan before it takes effect. If you keep the subscription past that date, the new price applies from your next renewal.

10. Taxes and Receipts

Prices shown on our site are exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise. Any sales tax, VAT, or equivalent that applies where you are is calculated and added by the seller at checkout, and shown to you before you pay.

The receipt or invoice for your purchase is issued by the merchant of record in its own name, which is the normal consequence of that structure. For the same reason we do not issue a Korean tax invoice for a subscription — if your organization needs one for its own accounting, take this into account before purchasing.

11. Service Levels

Paid plans are covered by our Service Level Agreement, which states the monthly availability we target, how it is measured, what is excluded, and the service credits you can claim if we fall short. The free plan is provided without a service-level commitment.

12. Changes to the Free Plan

What the free plan includes may change as the Service develops. Where a change removes something the free plan previously included, we announce it at least 30 days in advance and notify registered users individually, as described in Changes to These Terms. Introducing paid plans did not, by itself, change the free plan.

13. Country-Specific Terms

  • Republic of Korea. You have a right to withdraw your subscription within 7 days of the contract or of the date the service became available to you, under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. Where the service is digital content that has already been supplied and used, that right may be limited by law for the part already used, which is why our own policy in Section 7 turns on whether you have used the plan. In addition, a subscription with a term of one month or more is a continuing transaction under the Door-to-Door Sales Act: you may terminate it during its term, and we refund the unused remainder on a pro-rata basis, less any costs the law permits us to deduct. Contact us and we will process it.
  • European Economic Area and United Kingdom. As a Consumer you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from a distance contract. Where you ask us to begin supplying digital content immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right once supply begins, the right ends at that point — which, again, is why Section 7 turns on use rather than on time alone. If you have not used the plan, you may withdraw within 14 days and receive a full refund.
  • Other jurisdictions. If the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you additional or longer rights, those rights are not limited by these terms — contact us to exercise them.

14. Changes to These Paid Service Terms

We may amend these Paid Service Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. When we do, we state the effective date and the reason. The notice you get is the same as under the Terms of Service: at least 7 days for a change that affects your rights or obligations, and at least 30 days with individual notice if it is unfavorable to you or material — a price increase, a reduction of what a plan includes, or a narrowing of your refund rights. Corrections and clarifications that change nothing either of us owes the other take effect on publication.

If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel before it takes effect and it will not apply to you.

Version history: announced on August 1, 2026 and effective on publication. These terms were separated out of Plans, Fees, and Payment in the Terms of Service on the same day, together with the introduction of paid plans. Paid plans are available from August 3, 2026; nothing is charged before then.

15. Contact

Questions about billing, refunds, or these terms? Contact us at contact@newey.ai. We answer billing questions ourselves even though the seller of record executes the payment.
