Every corner of the internet, in your language
One browser extension puts live translated captions on any page — YouTube, Google Slides, webinars. Even over fullscreen presentations.
What it is
The Newey extension overlays captions directly on the web page you're viewing. Not a separate window — right on the content, and they stay put even over fullscreen views like Google Slides presentation mode.
Same account, same engine as the web console. Turn it on from the toolbar: it listens to tab audio (videos, streams) or your microphone, and finished sessions land in your console history.
When to use it
- Watching YouTube, foreign-language videos, or live streams that have no subtitles
- Presenting with captions over browser presentation modes like Google Slides or Canva
- Following webinars and online lectures without taking your eyes off the screen
- When arranging a separate window is a hassle — captions belong right on the content
How to use it
Install and sign in
Install from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with your newey.ai account — the popup shows who's signed in.
Pick an input source
Tab audio (video or stream sound), microphone (your voice), or both — then choose the translation language.
Press Start
Captions appear right on the page, and they follow along when you go fullscreen.
Adjust on hover
Hover the captions for font size, source-text toggle, pause, and stop — and drag them anywhere; they snap near the center.
Details & tips
Over fullscreen presentations
Captions persist over browser fullscreen like Google Slides presentation mode. Clicks outside the captions pass through, so nothing blocks your presentation or playback.
Hover toolbar
Hover the captions for font size, source-text toggle, pause/resume, and stop — settings are remembered for your next session.
Drag placement with snapping
Drag captions anywhere on screen — all the way to the edges — and they auto-align with a guide near the center.
One account with the console
Session history and usage share the same account as the web console — sessions from the extension can be reread and exported from your history.
Requirements & limitations
- Chromium-based desktop browsers only (Chrome, Edge, and similar).
- Signing in to newey.ai is required — usage and history are tied to your account.
- The source language is currently Korean (extension beta) — source-language selection and auto-detect are on the way.
Whatever you watch, whoever you talk to
Let the captions handle the language. One account, three seconds to start — free while in beta.
