Paid Service Terms

These terms apply when you buy a paid plan. They sit alongside our Terms of Service, which continue to govern everything else, and our Privacy Policy.

Last updated: August 3, 2026· Announced and effective on publication. Paid plans are available from August 2, 2026.

1. Scope

These Paid Service Terms apply to paid plans of the Newey AI service. Everything else — your account, acceptable use, your content, disclaimers, liability, and dispute resolution — is governed by the Terms of Service, which apply to paid plans too. Where the two conflict on a matter of payment, these Paid Service Terms prevail.

A change to these Paid Service Terms follows the same notice rules as the Terms of Service (Section 14).

2. Who You Buy From

Your purchase contract is with the merchant of record, not with us

Paid plans are sold through Lemon Squeezy (Sold through Link, LLC), acting as the merchant of record. It is the seller of your subscription: it takes your payment, its name appears on your receipt, and it is responsible for collecting and remitting any sales tax or VAT on the sale. We remain responsible to you for providing the Service itself under the Terms of Service, and you can always raise a billing problem with us directly at support@newey.ai — we will take it up with the seller on your behalf.

You enter your card and billing details on the seller’s checkout and it collects them as the seller: they never reach us, and we never store them. What we receive back is the state of your subscription. This is described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Plans and Prices

The plans on offer, what each includes, and their prices are shown on the pricing page and in the Service. The price, the billing period, and any taxes that apply to you are shown before you agree to pay.

Usage limits are measured as wall-clock captioning time, regardless of how many caption languages are displayed at once. Where a plan states a monthly allowance, that allowance does not carry over to the next period.

4. Billing Period and Renewal

You choose a monthly or a yearly billing period at checkout. Yearly plans are billed once for the whole year at the yearly price shown, not month by month.

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect for that plan, charged to the payment method you gave the seller, until you cancel. You can see your next billing date in the Service at any time, and we email you when a subscription starts, changes, or is cancelled.

5. Changing Your Plan

  • Upgrading — moving to a more expensive plan takes effect immediately, and you are charged only the difference. The seller works out what the unused remainder of your current plan is worth, in proportion to the time left in the period, and applies it as credit against the new plan. You pay the balance.
  • If that credit is larger than the new plan costs — which can happen when you move from a yearly plan early in its term — the excess is not lost. It stays on your account and is applied to your following payments until it is used up, so those renewals cost less or nothing at all. Your current credit is shown on this page.
  • Downgrading — moving to a cheaper plan, or to the free plan, takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep what you paid for until then, and nothing is charged in between.

We tell you which of the two applies, and when it takes effect, before you confirm. A scheduled downgrade can be cancelled at any time before it takes effect.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time, from the Service or from the seller’s customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account returns to the free plan. Cancelling does not by itself refund the current period — see Section 7 for when a refund is due.

Deleting your account cancels your subscription as part of the deletion. We do not delete an account while a subscription is still live at the seller, so that your card cannot keep being charged after your account is gone.

Deleting your account is different from cancelling. Cancelling leaves you on the paid plan until the end of the period you have paid for; deleting ends your account and your access at once, so the rest of that period cannot be used and is not refunded. The Service asks you to confirm this before it deletes anything. If you want the remainder back, do not delete first: your statutory rights under Section 13 — including the pro-rata refund a Korean consumer can claim on terminating a continuing transaction — still apply, and we will settle the refund before the account goes. Write to support@newey.ai.

7. Withdrawal and Refunds

Unused within 7 days: full refund. Used: statutory rights only.

If you ask within 7 days of a payment and you have not started a captioning session on the paid plan since that payment, we refund it in full, no reason needed. Write to support@newey.ai. We can see whether the plan has been used, so you do not have to prove anything.

Once you have used the paid plan, the service for that period has been supplied and we do not refund it, except where your statutory rights say otherwise (below) or where a fault on our side kept you from using what you paid for — in that case ask us and we will make it right. We may also refund at our discretion in circumstances we consider fair; doing so once does not oblige us to do it again.

Your statutory rights come first. If you are a “Consumer” — someone using the Service for purposes outside their trade, business, craft, or profession — nothing here limits any right of withdrawal, cancellation, or refund that the mandatory law of your country of habitual residence gives you. Section 13 sets out the two we are most often asked about. Because the merchant of record is the seller, refunds are executed by it; ask us and we will arrange it.

8. Failed Payments

If a renewal payment fails, the seller may retry it and will normally notify you. If it stays unpaid, the paid plan ends and your account returns to the free plan. We do not delete your saved data because a payment failed, and you can subscribe again at any time.

9. Price Changes

We may change the price of a plan. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for. We announce it at least 30 days before it applies to your renewals and notify you individually, so that you can cancel or change plan before it takes effect. If you keep the subscription past that date, the new price applies from your next renewal.

10. Taxes and Receipts

Prices are shown before tax. Whether sales tax, VAT, or an equivalent applies — and at what rate — depends on where you are, and where it does it is added to the price shown, so the amount you pay can be higher than the figure on our pricing page. The merchant of record determines what applies to your country, collects it, and remits it; we do not set those rates and they can change with the law.

You always see the total before you pay. The checkout shows the price, the tax, and the total, and the same breakdown appears on your receipt. Nothing is charged until you confirm that total.

The receipt or invoice is issued by the merchant of record in its own name, which is the normal consequence of that structure. Where your country has its own tax-document format for business buyers, what we can and cannot issue is set out in Country-Specific Terms.

11. Service Levels

Paid plans are covered by our Service Level Agreement, which states the monthly availability we target, how it is measured, and what is excluded. It applies to the whole Service; the service credits it provides are available on Business and Enterprise plans. On Free and Pro there is no credit and no contractual availability commitment.

12. Changes to What a Plan Includes

If a change is bad for you, it does not reach you mid-subscription

We may change what a paid plan includes. Where a change is in your favour — a new feature, a higher limit — it simply applies. Where it is to your disadvantage — a feature removed, a limit reduced — two things protect you:

  • The period you have paid for is untouched. You keep everything your plan included when you paid for it, for the whole of that billing period. A reduction never takes effect in the middle of a period you have already bought.
  • The next renewal needs your agreement. Before that period ends we tell you what is changing and ask you to accept it. If you accept, your subscription renews on the new terms. If you do not, it is not renewed on worse terms behind your back: the subscription ends at the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again. Either way you are told before the money moves, not after.

A price increase is treated the same way and additionally carries the 30 days’ notice described in Price Changes.

The free plan is different. It is provided at no charge and what it includes may change at any time as the Service develops — there is no period you have bought and nothing you have been charged for. Where a change removes something the free plan previously included, we announce it in the Service before it takes effect. Introducing paid plans did not, by itself, change the free plan.

The free-plan paragraph above takes effect on August 31, 2026. Until then the commitment published on August 1, 2026 stands: a change removing something the free plan previously included is announced at least 30 days in advance with individual notice. The paid-plan protections above are in your favour and apply from publication.

13. Country-Specific Terms

  • European Economic Area and United Kingdom. As a Consumer you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from a distance contract. Where you ask us to begin supplying digital content immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right once supply begins, the right ends at that point — which, again, is why Section 7 turns on use rather than on time alone. If you have not used the plan, you may withdraw within 14 days and receive a full refund.
  • Republic of Korea. You have a right to withdraw your subscription within 7 days of the contract or of the date the service became available to you, under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. Where the service is digital content that has already been supplied and used, that right may be limited by law for the part already used, which is why our own policy in Section 7 turns on whether you have used the plan. In addition, a subscription with a term of one month or more is a continuing transaction under the Door-to-Door Sales Act: you may terminate it during its term, and we refund the unused remainder on a pro-rata basis, less any costs the law permits us to deduct. Contact us and we will process it. Because the merchant of record issues the receipt in its own name (Section 10), we do not issue a Korean tax invoice for a subscription — if your organization needs one for its own accounting, take that into account before purchasing.
  • Other jurisdictions. If the mandatory law of your country of residence gives you additional or longer rights, those rights are not limited by these terms — contact us to exercise them.

14. Changes to These Paid Service Terms

We may amend these Paid Service Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. When we do, we state the effective date and the reason. The notice you get is the same as under the Terms of Service: at least 7 days for a change that affects your rights or obligations, and at least 30 days with individual notice if it is unfavorable to you or material — a price increase, a reduction of what a plan includes, or a narrowing of your refund rights. Corrections and clarifications that change nothing either of us owes the other take effect on publication.

If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel before it takes effect and it will not apply to you. Separately from notice, a change that reduces what a paid plan includes cannot reach you in the middle of a period you have paid for, and cannot renew you onto worse terms without your agreement — see Changes to What a Plan Includes.

Revised on August 1, 2026, later the same day, and effective on publication except where stated: taxes are described as included in the price shown rather than added at checkout (this reflects how the seller is configured, and is what you were already charged); upgrading now explains that unused time on your current plan becomes credit and that credit larger than the new plan carries forward until used; and Changes to What a Plan Includes is added, protecting paid subscribers from mid-period reductions and from renewal on worse terms without agreement. Its free-plan paragraph takes effect on August 31, 2026 for the reason given there; everything else is in your favour and applies now.

Version history: announced on August 1, 2026 and effective on publication. These terms were separated out of Plans, Fees, and Payment in the Terms of Service on the same day, together with the introduction of paid plans. Paid plans are available from August 3, 2026; nothing is charged before then.

August 2, 2026, effective on publication: paid plans opened on August 2 rather than August 3. The entry above is left as it was written — this history is a record of what we said and when, so a date we announced is corrected by a new line, not by editing the old one. Moving the date earlier takes nothing away: nobody is charged without buying, and the free plan is unchanged.

August 2, 2026, later the same day, effective on publication: Taxes and Receipts is corrected. It said the price you see already includes any tax; the first live payment showed tax being added to it instead. The section now says that, and says you always see the total before paying. We publish the correction rather than adjust it quietly: a statement about what you will be charged is not a detail.

Also on August 2, 2026, effective on publication: Cancellation now says plainly what deleting your account does to a period you have already paid for — access ends at once, that remainder is not refunded, and your statutory rights under Section 13 are untouched, so a refund you are entitled to is settled before the account goes. This states the practice that was already in place rather than changing it, and the Service now asks you to confirm it before deleting.

August 3, 2026, effective on publication: Scope drops the paragraph explaining why these terms sit in their own document and keeps the part that matters — a change here follows the same notice rules as the Terms of Service. Editorial only; no right, price, or refund changed.

Also on August 2, 2026, effective on publication: Country-Specific Terms lists the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom first, then the Republic of Korea, then other jurisdictions — the order the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy already use. The statement that we do not issue a Korean tax invoice moved out of Taxes and Receipts, where it sat among rules that apply to everyone, into the Korean entry where it belongs; it says the same thing in the same words. Order and placement only — no right, price, or refund changed.
